Machine Operator- Sligo

Our client, a manufacturing company in Sligo, is looking to hire Cutting Machine Operator. Requirements: Part of a Production team preparing stainless steel and/or plastic kits for handover for Manufacture. Responsible for the manufacture of bespoke parts using predominantly a lathe, milling machine & pillar drill. Ability to use measuring equipment such as DRO’s, vernier’s & micromoter’s. Ability to interpret 2D/3D drawings. Skilled operation of fabrication hand tools (drill/grinder) to ensure a high quality finish is achieved. Conduct ongoing QC checks to ensure product meets with expectations around Quality. Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy. There will be training opportunities for other equipment within the department such as the CNC brake press, CNC router and saws. Responsibilities: Previous experience in the Food Processing industry an advantage. Skilled operation of lathes & milling machines. Must be proficient in the operation of fabrication hand tools (drill/grinder. Ability to read 2D & 3D drawings. Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Must be able to work well on your own or as part of a team using your own initiative and solve problems as they arise. Must be highly flexible and motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude. FLT experience an advantage. Manual Handling ticket. Abrasive Wheel ticket. Must be able to effectively liaise with support departments to achieve operational efficiency. Willing to be flexible in the role and to support the need to shift resource as and when required.
