SALES & MARKETING MANAGER - CO. SLIGO 4**** HOTEL. To develop new business and be responsible for managing the relationship and penetration of major accounts in an effort to increase revenue especially in segments of, events leisure and corporate business. This position may suit an experienced Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager or an Account Sales Manager with particularly strengths in hotels seeking first senior Management role. Duties and Responsibilities: Research the need areas of consumers and hotels and translate that into an effective marketing plan. Implement the marketing plan using proper marketing vehicles. Monitor the marketing plan by evaluating the effectiveness of the results against forecasted goals. Critique/analyse past marketing programmes. " Be responsible for sales department expenses. " Monitor the sales production for all areas of the hotel. Analyse statistics and make appropriate decisions. " To ensure the Social Media plan is actioned and that new and creative ideas are continually explored. " Develop new business and penetrate existing accounts for corporate & mice business Maintain current business relationships and network for new business within accounts both in Ireland and Oversees. " Co-ordinate with hotel for site inspections trips. Ensure follow through and property 'buy in' on customer service needs. " To build relationships with journalists and develop PR for the Hotel. " To develop relationships in the local community by networking and monthly events. " To develop the wedding and function trade. " To develop individual bed business, golden oldies, leisure and corporate accounts. Participation in Sales activities including but not limited to: " Sales Trips & Appointments. " Tradeshow Attendance. " Telesales. " Corporate Hospitality. " Familiarisation Trips. " Site Inspections. " Presentations. " Corporate business sales and Show arounds. " Maintain in-depth, accurate and up to date account data. " Maintain regular communication with all special corporate accounts. " Negotiate rates for special corporate and group accounts. " Conduct market research and understand transient and group strategies of competitors. " Be able to write effective proposals. " Competition shopping for rates, benefits and key account activity in competitor hotels. " Achieve established revenue goals and report monthly to General Manager. " Be able to solicit new accounts, as well as maintain and grow existing accounts business. " Present ideas, expectations and information in concise, well-organised manner that will demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm. " Total involvement in the Business Planning and Budgeting process. The ideal candidate for this position: *Must have 2-3 years previous experience in a similar sales and marketing management role in a 3*/4*hotel. * Strong Business exposure to Corporates, Meeting, Incentives, Conferences & Events (MICE. *Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a positive outlook. *Must be standards driven and customer focused. *Must be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills. *Have a full clean driver's license and their own transport. *Must have experience of setting annual sales budgets.
