The Revenue Sheriff is personally responsible for managing and organising the Sheriff’s Office. They are responsible for the collection on behalf of the Revenue Commissioners of outstanding tax debts. The duties and functions of the position are laid out in section 12 of the Court Officers Act 1945.   Under desirable skills in the Information booklet the 2nd bullet (a comprehensive understanding of Dáil and other electoral procedures and processes) is not relevant to this position.
