R&D Senior Scientist. Exciting new opportunity for a Senior Scientist who will be Product Expert in R&D for our Sligo based Medical Device Manufacturing client. Your responsibilities. As part of R&D department, you will be responsible for: Ensuring design & development of changes affecting clients product portfolio. Collaboration with Engineering and Operations Departments, as well as other global Centers of Excellence and other Corporate functions. Applying most advanced technologies within the industry, in relation to material changes, and integrate improvements for future product developments. Independently compiles, analyzes, reports and drives material changes. Independently, or as a member of a team, develops, directs, and executes plans for a major segment of complex projects. Prepares demonstrations of applications to meet customer requirements. Assists with sales and marketing communications efforts. Investigate customer complaints, CAPA and nonconformities related to product & raw materials and take necessary actions in order to eliminate them. As technical lead: Deploy and implements activities to achieve project goals and recommends appropriate actions. Oversee troubleshooting on new or existing products problems in relation to design or material to assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed materials. Interface with internal and corporate functions to obtain feedback on concepts and performance of new or existing devices. Key player to solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations. Summarize, analyze and draw conclusions from complex test results. Prepare complex reports and communicate results to multi-disciplinary teams. Responsible for R&D documentation as per expected by corporate product design & development process. Train and/or provide work direction as part of design transfer activities. Education & experience. 5 years of experience working in a Medical Device environment. Minimum Level 8 in Science discipline. Demonstrated technical decision making and Project management experience. Strong ability to interact and collaborate with scientific/subject matter experts in the field, clinical studies, and in the lab.
