Description

EHS Lead – Sligo. Job Purpose: • Lead the site EHS team supporting the EHS goals at site. • Manage the site EHS management system ensuring all relevant EHS standards are complied with. • Lead the implementation of GMS EHS initiatives on site. • Accelerate EHS performance, improving compliance and minimising significant EHS risks. • Lead site risk management processes including emergency response. • Key contact for both external and internal regulatory visits and audits. • Accountable for ensuring compliance with appropriate internal, local, national and international EHS Policies, procedures and standards. Scope of Responsibility. • Providing professional direction, advice and technical information to the site leadership team to enable the site to comply with its legal obligations, and keeping management abreast of changes in HS&E Legislation, Codes of Practice and best practice. • Provide key EHSS input into Site Management decisions. • Effectively lead, develop and motivate team of EHS personnel (1-2 GSK FTE reports. • Developing and managing EHS programs and processes to attain full compliance with relevant regulations, site and corporate policies. • Responsible for site environmental performance and management of total waste management contract. • Maintain adherence to EHS OPEX budgets. • Be an Advocate for EHS with key customers across the site. Lead the implementation of comprehensive Health and Safety initiatives to promote, develop and sustain a positive Health and Safety awareness culture. • Managing internal and external Environmental, Safety and Health inspections and audits, and liaising with external inspectors and identifying appropriate safety measures. • Overseeing EHS reviews for facility modification, equipment/machinery installations and modifications. Facilitating EHS reviews for equipment transfer to/from other facilities. • In conjunction with HR, assisting with the monitoring of rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries, and ensuring satisfactory return to work. Basic qualifications: Basic Education. • Level 8 in EHS. • Diploma in Health & Safety. Basic Experience: • Minimum of 2/3 years’ experience in a senior EHS role within a Pharmaceutical / Medical Devices / GMP environment. • Knowledge of current EHS legislation. • Ability to see the bigger picture. Good understanding of EHS and its impact across the site. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Ability to make decisions and take necessary actions. • Good analytical skills and ability to think logically in order to problem solve. Preferred qualifications : Preferred Education: • Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety (MIOSH. • MSc in EHS Management Systems. • Green Belt/Black Belt.
