My client, based in Sligo, is looking to recruit a Data Protection Officer to ensure the organisation is compliant with all data protection and privacy issues. This person will need to have a professional qualification in compliance or data protection and be very familiar with all areas of data protection and GDPR. Responsibilities: For all data protection matters within the organisation. Develop privacy by design structures within the organisation. Develop further and oversee the GDPR implementation plan for the organisation. Ensure data processing agreements are in place with third parties handling personal data and monitor their compliance with those agreements. Respond in a timely manner to data subjects’ requests. Deal with any data protection queries that may arise. Act as point of contact between the organisation and the Data Commissioners office. Submit a quarterly data protection report to board of directors. Requirement: Must have a professional qualification in Compliance or data protection or have worked in a similar role. Strong planning/project management skills to achieve deadlines and targets. In-depth understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation. Have experience applying and implementing legal and regulatory requirements – ideally in a data protection or compliance role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
